All public footpaths and highways are maintained by Essex County Council, and all problems and issues, such as broken kerbs, potholes etc, should be reported to them as soon as possible.

The easiest way to do this, and to see if there are already any reported faults is by using – this website allows you to enter the details of the problem by clicking on the map, and then sends the report to Essex County Council and Colchester Borough Council.

We routinely report any faults that we see or that you report to us, so if you are unable to access the fixmystreet site, please do contact us and we can report the fault on your behalf. We also notify our Borough and County Councillor representatives, so they can follow up and ensure faults are fixed as soon as possible.
