Friday Catch Up – 6th May

Good Afternoon

About last night…

Thank you to everyone who attended our Parish Assembly last night.  It was great to see all your smiling faces.  We hope to build on this every year, bring more organisations in to talk about what they have been up to over the past 12 months as well as sharing all our news.  It’s an excellent opportunity for everyone to meet the Councillors, pose questions and have an informal chat afterwards.

Congratulations to Nick Baker & Ros Watling for their hard work and dedication to the Rowhedge Heritage Trust & in particular the archiving, a lot of their hard work will be on display over the Community Fair weekend of the 14-15th May at the village hall as part of the RHT Archive Exhibition. The Mariners Foodbank team are also worthy winners-the foodbank at the Mariners Chapel on a Monday evening is an invaluable service helping people.  Finally to Amy Widdowson, over the pandemic Amy cheered us all up by delivering sunflower seeds to every household and as the Chair-Anna Appleyard, so beautifully put it, “She has changed the landscape of our village”  Amy continued this tradition and it couldn’t go unrecognised.  Congratulations all.

Also…oooh it’s all the best wishes today isn’t it!?  Ward Cllr Lee Scordis who retains his seat in the Old Heath & The Hythe…which includes us.  Well Done Lee.

Did anyone attend the Stroll with a Patrol last night?  Was it useful? – let us know, so we can give the Police some feedback.

Rowhedge Music Day hosted by Ye Olde Albion took place on Bank Holiday Sunday, an excellent event all organised by our very own Geoff Lawrence.  A massive thank you, well done and yay is sent to you Geoff for your hard work in putting something so spectacular together for the village.
