Councillor Anna Appleyard

  • Chair of East Donyland Parish Council
  • Member of the Finance & Personnel Committee
Like many before me, I was charmed by the riverside aspect of Rowhedge and the surrounding countryside and so in 2010 I moved here.  I live with my husband and two school-age children.  I am passionate about enhancing the enjoyment of this beautiful village for all those who wish to share it.  I have over 20 years of experience in education as manager of a Nursery in Sydney, Australia and as a Primary School Teacher in London & Colchester.   I have a keen interest in the environment and also in Community.

Councillor Julian Brett

  • Vice Chair of the Council
  • Chair of the Maintenance Committee

Councillor Ian Pettitt

  • Member of the Maintenance committee
I have lived in the village for over a decade, my background is, Marketing & Communications and playing music to people on dancefloors.
I have a very keen interest in all sports, and after spending 18 months renovating our house in Rowhedge, I’ve found I don’t actually mind DIY.
We are all extremely lucky to live in this inspiring place, with such a fantastic community

Councillor Maxiene Cartwright

  • Member of the Finance & Personnel Committee

I moved to the village 2 years ago & my only regret is that I didn’t move here sooner. I’m an equality officer amongst other roles for a trade union. I’m also the financial secretary of the Colchester Sea Cadets.  I enjoy arts, crafts & gardening & I’m probably best known in the village for hiding painted stones. I love the community feel of the village & im looking forward to continuing to build this
